I have severe asthma and I have been working with Rob to help control my breathing better. I recently went out of town due to carry luggage down several halls I had a asthma attack. I used my inhaler and I still could not breath I started to panic a little bit. I contacted Rob and he talked me through some breathing techniques and after a few minutes I was back to breathing normally again. Rob has a really calming voice which helps a lot when panic starts to sets in. Since I've started using his breath work my asthma has gotten a lot better and instead of 1 inhaler every month it's 1 every 3 to 5 months now. The approach that Rob takes with functional breathing, and the application of hypoxia allows for total activation of not only the target muscle, but increase his concentration and overall awareness of the movement. This conscious technique is significantly more difficult than a normal weight training routine that most people would do in a gym or even with their average trainer. I spent quite a bit of time doing the Wim Hoff breathing method which I felt was helpful, but Rob takes this to a whole other level. Through Rob’s nasal breathing technique and box breathing I am now able to swim 3/4 of a mile effortlessly And have more mind muscle connection with my bodybuilding style workouts. This is an entirely new frontier for fitness and optimizing human performance and I am so lucky that I have Rob as a coach. I can stand on a 65 cm stability ball barefoot for several minutes and my goal is to be able to stand completely stable with no muscle twitching on the stability ball for 10 solid minutes while maintaining nasal breathing. In addition, the mind muscle connection is allowing for deep muscle contractions, and activation of muscle fibers that I didn’t even know I had.

The push up breathwork was a total game changer for me in my fitness gains. Every single time I do this prior to a workout, I have more energy, more range of motion, and I have access to more reps, my capacity on every level grows. After doing this consistently for a few months, my body naturally switched from mouth breathing to nose breathing, especially in cardio and feeling winded is almost non-existent because I feel like I am able to recover while still being active. In addition to the fitness benefits that I experienced with the push up breathwork, I also witnessed a huge shift in my mental clarity and ability to process trauma. I used to suffer from extreme PTSD and this exercise helped me to reach a new level of anxiety management, allowing me to be fully present in the moment as well as process through stored tension related to past trauma.
